Description

Hi!

This is a commish for :iconthebdc:
The Phantom in the masquerade ball!

I think this is the best thing I've done this year 2009 xD

I already did an other commission of the Phantom of the Opera for him a while ago, here:

(I think this last one is better ;))

Cheers!

Vision - The piece certainly contains an accurate display of the sort of surprise that would be present, but there isn't QUITE the widespread terror associated with the Phantom.

Originality - There is definitely a sort of distinguishment between the styles here and displayed elsewhere. You have a good amount of of flourishes and clothing that is not seen in any of the other Phantom artworks.

Technique - This piece is an outstanding example of the impact of black and white coloring. It gives a feel that it belongs to an older era, and the presence of the shading on the statues, obscuring all but basic shape, speaks to the darkness that "falls" whenever the Phantom appears.

Impact - This piece is amazing, and my rating reflects that while giving room to improve.
